Executive Coach Lucy first joined Alison Haill’s group coaching programme in March 2020 – and, 4 years on, working with Alison is an investment she’s still happy to renew each year!
What attracted you to start working with Alison?
I’d been coaching for many years and running my own coaching business for 4 years when I first met Alison Haill. I felt uncertain about my pricing and lacked the confidence and clarity on how to go about increasing my fees. When I read about her group coaching about charging what you are worth, I signed up.
What programme did you attend?
The 6-month group coaching programme “Charge What You’re Worth And Get It®” was the first one. I subsequently joined Alison for several other programmes because I was so pleased with the results.
It was the start of the pandemic so what were your expectations?
When the group started in March 2020, I really felt new business and raising prices were highly unlikely given the pandemic crisis we suddenly found ourselves in.! I even thought “What bad timing to invest in this.” How wrong I was!
What results did you see in that first 6 months?
The results were greater than I thought possible.
Half-way through the programme I took stock. I had already generated new work – at a time when I didn’t believe it was possible. I had also increased my prices, alongside a belief and knowledge that the client is getting good deal.
At that half-way point I signed on a new 6-month client at my new rates and I felt really chuffed. I had another 1:1 client sale in the pipeline, alongside three team contracts, all at my new pricing level and I felt confident the clients would buy.
The programme made a real difference to me and my business. I’m much much braver. I’ve changed my mindset and my beliefs about myself and the impact of my coaching.
What changes have you made in your business as a result?
I made lots of changes in that first 6 months – selling a 6-month programme instead of by the month. Working with clients online, 1:1 and with teams. Getting new work and using different language. No more apology about the fee, but language that shows my confidence about the output, and certainty about the benefits of the investment so clients view it as a no-brainer.
I definitely increased in confidence – I’m not cocky or arrogant but during that time I developed a grounded belief in what I do and the results it creates, and this is what supports my new messaging. Financial change, I raised my prices by 30% during the 6-month programme and in the last week I sold two new client contracts adding a further 20K to my total during the 6 months. I’m certain I would not have been increasing my prices and using some of the [new} language without this course.
What did you enjoy about the course?
Making this investment was a very positive decision for me because it targeted an area I knew I needed help with. But I’ve got much more than that. It has been more rounded than I expected so I’ve developed my branding, my thinking about language and my value.
The investment to work with Alison has been a really useful mode of accountability too – in that crazy time. I like the mix of group and 1:1, and the option to have more 1:1 sessions.
What would you say to others thinking about signing up?
If you are considering signing up to work with Alison, my advice is “Sign up. And lean in, because the return is wide and far reaching – and exciting.”
I’ve recommended Alison’s coaching group programmes to other experienced coaches that I know too because the return on investment from working with her has brought so much to me and my business. I really value Alison’s 1:1 sessions too that are included in the package.
And 4 years later Lucy is still working with Alison!
“Alison’s coaching now incorporates a more rounded accountability so the package of what she brings is more holistic than when I started. It’s about me the individual AND my business – be it mechanically, service-wise or personally. I really value what I gain.
“Alison is a strong woman and I’m a strong woman. She’s not afraid to challenge me and it’s ALWAYS in service of me, and my work. The whole package means I show up as a business owner more able, more capable, more full. So bring it on! What’s not to love?”
